In order to obtain a birth certificate, you must be a parent, grandparent, spouse, adult brother or sister, legal guardian, child legal representative or self. Valid ID must be presented in order to obtain a birth certificate. The fee for the first certified copy is $25.00. Additional copies ordered for the same person at the same time are $5.00 each.
AMENDED OR DELAYED BIRTH CERTIFICATES:
In order to file for a delayed birth certificate or to amend your current birth certificate (adults only) you must have three (3) of the following documents. Each document must be certified and they should all have the same spelling of your name and the same birth date. For females, all of the documents must include your maiden name. All of the documents must be at least ten (10) years old and one (1) of the documents should include your father's full name and your mother's full maiden name. The following are suggested examples of the types of documents needed and should not be construed as a complete list:
- Your child's birth certificate with your name and age or birth date
- Marriage License Application
- School Records
- Hospital Records
- Voter's Registration Application
- Employment Records
- Military Records
Once the documents have been compiled, you will need to take them to State Vital Records in Atlanta.

Anyone can request a marriage certificate. Each certified copy is $10.00 each.
